About Bridport Art Society

Introduction

The Society is a friendly group which welcomes artists of all levels of experience.

It is a non-profit making body whose aim is to encourage interest in and practice of the visual arts. This includes painting, drawing and print-making together with sculpture and 3D artworks. It specifically excludes photography and photographic copies of original artworks.

Established in 1956/7 the Society has continued to evolve and thrive with over 100 members drawn from Bridport, West Bay and the wider West Dorset area, as well as further afield.

The Society provides an extensive programme of events with regular evening meetings and demonstrations, day workshops, a major public Annual Summer Exhibition and the popular Easter Exhibition. Members organise an informal Come and Paint group session and occasional group outings. There is a strong social aspect to our gatherings!

The annual programme of events runs from January to December.
